Fishing for the Moon by the Night Sea (夜の海でお月様を釣る, Yoru no Umi de Otsuki-sama wo Tsuru) is a free JRPG made in 2012 by Kanao (Kanashimi Hocchikisu), and translated by @NingenDesu in 2024.
Synopsis
In the stormy ocean, you encounter a mermaid, who saves your life. She takes you to an inn where you begin to work alongside some girls. Who will you choose as your bride?
While reeling in the moon, a dog fisherman speaks of a certain legend of the sea. Will you discover the secrets hidden among the waves?
Fishing for the Moon is the third spin-off of the Towelket games and the tenth installment in the series. The game plays a dating simulator where the player can choose the gender of the main character and pick up a partner among the 10 heroines and 1 hero.
The story has multiple branching routes. It is encouraged that you play through multiple routes in order to get to see the full story.
Warnings
Although the game is not explicit, it does contain pixel graphical imagery (blood, gore and body horror), swearing, as well as suggestive language.
Important: This game was not made by us (Patchy Illusion Team)!
However, the developer has allowed us to translate the games.

How to Play
In order to play this game, you must unzip the contents. You can use any file archiver of your liking for this purpose.
- Unzip the contents
- Right-click on the downloaded file.
- Find and click on the Extract option.
- Select the destination folder where you want to extract the files.
- After unzipping the game:
- Navigate to the folder where you extracted the contents.
There you will find that the game comes with both the original RPG Maker executable "RPG_RT.exe", as well as EasyRPG's executable "player.exe".
EasyRPG is a more modern, free and open source alternative to run RPG Maker 2000/2003 games. It also offers an option to fast-forward by pressing and holding "F" (which makes the game run at x3 the speed). However, there have been reports of problems with MIDI playback. If you experience any problem, we recommend using the original executable instead.
